Commercial Site Clearance Contractors
A development programme needs a clear starting point: accessible land, understood constraints and a practical plan for removing what stands in the way. AS Arboriculture Ltd provides commercial site clearance from Market Deeping, Peterborough PE6 8BU, supporting housebuilders, principal contractors, landowners and infrastructure teams. Development plots, pre-construction sites and neglected commercial land can all present different access, vegetation and waste challenges. We assess those conditions before recommending a workable clearance sequence, rather than assuming every site needs the same treatment.
Our directors are Alex Smiley and Michelle. The limited company was incorporated on 5 July 2023. Commercial site clearance and vegetation clearance are our core services, using appropriate forestry mulchers, excavators, telehandlers with grabs, tractor-mounted flails, timber cranes, stump grinders and chippers. We offer free site visits, £5m public liability insurance and RAMS. Based locally for Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire, we also undertake commercial clearance nationwide.

Clearance for development and housebuilding
Pre-construction clearance should make the next stage easier, not leave hidden obstacles for another contractor. We discuss the intended development, retained features and working boundaries before agreeing which trees, scrub, stumps and surface materials need removing. On housebuilding plots, the sequence may involve opening access first, clearing vegetation in phases and preparing agreed working areas. The scope is recorded so that everyone understands what will be removed, what remains and which follow-on operations require separate planning.
- ✓Development plots and housing land
- ✓Defined clearance limits and retained features
- ✓Phased access for construction teams
- ✓Agreed handover conditions before work starts
Plant-led clearance and material handling
The clearance method is selected to match machinery to the ground conditions and the material being handled. Forestry mulchers and flails tackle suitable vegetation, while excavators, grabs and timber cranes support lifting, sorting and loading operations. Stump grinders and chippers can form part of the clearance where specified. Machine choice depends on access width, bearing capacity, gradients and nearby assets. We explain the proposed method during planning and identify any areas that need a different approach or additional investigation.
- ✓Forestry mulching and mechanical vegetation removal
- ✓Timber handling, chipping and stump treatment
- ✓Plant selection matched to site access
- ✓Separate consideration of soft or restricted ground
Infrastructure corridors and utility land
Linear sites need careful coordination because clearance can affect neighbouring land, existing services and access routes over a long distance. We can plan vegetation removal for infrastructure corridors and utility projects around the client's work areas and operational requirements. Service information, exclusion zones and access permissions should be confirmed before machinery enters the site. Where work interfaces with roads, public routes or specialist infrastructure, any necessary permissions, traffic arrangements and asset-owner requirements must be established in advance.
- ✓Utility and infrastructure clearance scopes
- ✓Access routes and working corridor preparation
- ✓Protection of identified retained assets
- ✓Coordination with other site operations
Waste removal and initial ground preparation
Fly-tipped material and green waste can complicate an otherwise straightforward clearance. We assess visible materials, discuss segregation and agree the removal scope, with disposal arrangements appropriate to the waste involved. Suspected hazardous materials need separate assessment and must not be treated as ordinary site debris. Where suitable and included in the quotation, soil stripping and levelling can follow clearance. These operations are agreed against the intended use; they are not a substitute for engineered design, contamination assessment or specified ground testing.
- ✓Green waste and agreed fly-tip removal
- ✓Material segregation and appropriate disposal routes
- ✓Soil stripping where specified
- ✓Initial levelling to an agreed scope
RAMS, ecology and programme planning
A realistic programme starts with the site's constraints. Our RAMS set out the planned activities and controls, with attention to plant movements, exclusion zones and the people working nearby. Clearance timing must also account for wildlife, including active bird nests and any protected-species constraints. A calendar date alone does not establish that vegetation is safe to remove. Where surveys, licences or specialist advice are needed, these should inform the programme before clearance proceeds. We can discuss phased working around identified restrictions.
- ✓Site-specific planning and RAMS
- ✓Ecology-aware timing and retained habitats
- ✓Clear work boundaries and communication
- ✓Free site visits before quotation
Site Clearance FAQs
Yes. We can assess development land and quote for an agreed pre-construction clearance package. Tell us about the proposed layout, access, retained trees, known services and any planning or ecology conditions. We then define the clearance limits and intended handover condition. Tree permissions, specialist surveys and ground investigations may need resolving before particular operations can begin.
